Please help chance a junior for BA/MD program

Here is the stats for my D who is currently a junior. She does not have a specific school in mind yet. But she is aiming for some of the top BA/MD programs. Thanks in advance.

GPA
Unweighted: 4.0
Weighted: Don’t know yet, but currently having all A+ in all AP classes
Class Rank: N/A

SAT:
(1st): CR 740, W 800, M 800, Total 2340
(2nd): CR 800, W 760, M 800, Total 2360
Superscore: 2400

SAT2:
Math level 2: 800
Biology: will take in May 2011
US history: will take in May 2011
Literature: will take in May 2011

APs:
Calculus AB
Biology
US history
English
Will take Calculus BC, Physics in senior year

ECs:
President of a club that helps lending funds to entrepreneurs in third world countries.
Member of Red Cross, UNICEF
Intern at Stanford Institute of Medicine Summer Research Program (SIMR ) 2011
Tutor Math and English at local tutor learning center

Voluntary works:
200+ hrs at local hospital
100+ hrs at Sacred Heart Community Service

her stats are obviously excellent-and it will make her competitive at top programs. But, I think her medically related extra curricular’s are slightly lacking-same wiith her school EC’s. It’s too late to become extremely involved-but you can do things like hospice volunteering, etc over the summer. I think she should really focus on essays too bc those will set her apart.

davev61, check out the posts on http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/multiple-degree-programs/989166-guidance-2011-2012-bs-md-appicants.html</a> for a better idea of what the BA MD selection process is like.

She has very good stats. I am sure she will get into many combined programs.

If she likes football (or even better yet … football players  ), she should definitely consider Penn State, or maybe Northwestern. You’ve got BIG TEN football at those schools. In fact, it is so BIG TEN in the BIG TEN, they’ve got 12 teams ! (LOL ! :)!)

Yeah, maybe she could show a little more interest in medicine through shadowing for example, though the numbers are probably good enough for her to get some interviews.
