@insanedreamer Thanks so much for the response, I will maybe try and apply to Rice and Cornell, but I don’t mind getting rejected everywhere else if I get into GA Tech…A rejection from GA Tech though would be really really hard for me to bear…I have my heart set on it
It’s great to have a goal and favorite but it’s also best to leave yourself open and not have your heart set so as to avoid being devastated. You never know what you will end up liking. My D wanted to go to Chicago, Stanford or Cornell and only applied to RPI as an afterthought (and because they didn’t require a personal essay :), but that’s where she ended up going (thanks to a large scholarship) and is very happy there She also told herself she probably wouldn’t get into her top choices so she was only mildly disappointed. (Tip: if you get waitlisted to your favorite but don’t get in, you will likely be accepted as a transfer as they have more spaces available at that time. My D was waitlisted at Chicago and Cornell, and was told her chances of being accepted as a transfer were good. Ironically she likes it so much at RPI that I doubt she will consider applying for a transfer even though I’ve been hoping she’d go to Chicago
Engineering perhaps, but I’ve read their SCS acceptance rate is in the single digits.
