Please help guys!! Thank you soo much!!

haha I like your username! I think you will definitely get into Wharton ED

Wharton frowns upon non profits. You may want to include in an essay that the non profit was actually created as a tax shelter for the fortune 200 company you interned for.

Thanks for the help guys. I’m pretty concerned about the 600 on my history sat 2. I also took math 2 once before and got a 680. Do y’all think that weighs negatively?

^ you don’t HAVE to send in those scores, do ya?

Unfortunately Penn makes you send all scores from all sittings. They say they count the highest but still want to see them all. Technically they only require 2 so the us history one shouldn’t count…I hope anyways.

I’m Indian…and I’m deff applying to a lot of other schools too. Admission to these schools is like a lottery…you never know.

Really? You really devised a marketing tool that is being used in millions of dollars worth of consulting deals? I somehow have trouble believing a high school student has the knowledge to devise such a thing, and that maybe (just maybe) you’re stretching the truth just a bit too much. Maybe you might’ve helped out on a team that devised this marketing tool, but if you did this by yourself, why do you not have job offers already? You’ve obviously done what most Wharton kids wish they could have done upon graduating… from business school. Just a heads up, admissions officers can see through the obvious BS that you’re putting on paper and you may want to tone down the extreme business “competence” you claim to have. If on the off chance that you really did do all this before the 12th grade, then you are truly a commendable student and you’d be shoo-in at Wharton, but you may want to send in some proof of all your accomplishments. Maybe a news article or something of the sort.

But still, sniffI smell a ■■■■■sniff…

agree with Pennathletic in a way.

White I wouldn’t be quite as harsh as supersizeme, I would be wary of making unsubstantiated claims that make you look abnormally impressive. If you can back it up with specific numbers or published documentation like news articles, then go ahead and use it to your advantage, but be aware that for every overoptimistic estimate an applicant makes, there’s another applicant who can point to a bank account and say “this is how much money I’ve raised”. Apart from that, most of your SATIIs are pretty low–if you can get them into mid- or upper-700s then you’d be better off.

Sorry it came out differently than I intended haha. I basically work in the consulting sector of the company and am going through the last 4 years worth of data. Half my work is finding trends in location, compentency etc…basically where the company is doing the most work, which fields, locations etc. mainly for internal purposes so they know where to focus their time and efforts. The second part is reading and analyzing the folders on the different consulting engagements and putting together client presentations that show we can save you this much money in this area, energy here, etc. I deff did not mean to put it so crassly earlier. While my project isn’t solely used in millions of dollars worth of sales, the work I’m doing will deff contribute. My boss will be more than happy to give me a letter of rec that says it. Sorry again…didnt mean to come off that way haha.

Also while I like my job, I’m truly passionate about our organization. With what we do it’s a ton of fun because I get to hang with a bunch of friends while we work. We deff have a lot of fun, but it’s also something that I can quantify and say we’ve actually donated x amount.

Thank you for expanding on your previous claims, but I still feel your claim is a bit to self-aggrandizing. I can’t imagine you doing all that research and work single-handily, so be sure to denote that you worked in a team. If you actually did all this market research yourself, well, then congrats and I honestly find your work commendable. Get some proof and make sure your boss mentions it in his rec.

Other than that, your chances are looking good. You look like you’re a student that has taken full advantage of whatever opportunity that has been given to him, and then some.

BTW, how did you go about setting up your own non-profit? I’m trying to do something similar (a web based social movement) but it’s extremely difficult to get the word out.

it’s pretty feasible that the work he did was used in millions of dollars of deals. he wasn’t saying that the deals wouldn’t have happened in his absence. hell, if i wrote a cover letter that got attached to a 100 million dollar deal, i could say that my work was used in a $100 million deal

the only great thing i see here is the SAT score, but OP does have some solid work experience and maybe a genuine interest in business will shine through. it could really go either way since he is unhooked.

@WoodrowWilsonJR – Well, way to have moral standards.

Ya I mean I’m from Texas, my job is in Boston, but my boss is in Cali so the project is definitely my baby. I work in an office with basically all developers and the only help I get is when my boss flys in to meet with me.

Also I can get the sat 2s up I just don’t know if they’ll overlook the bad ones

Supersize me I’ll message you.

Also you said proof…other than a letter should I submit some actual work?
