Hello all. I am an African American male and I go to one of the best public schools in new york city and am looking to get into at least one of these colleges: Princeton, Cornell, Dartmouth, Brown, Northwestern, U Chicago, Vanderbilt

Here are my stats:
SAT - 2300 M-800 R-750 W-750
SAT II - Math II-790 Physics-710 US History-800 Bio- 760
Average - 92.5% / 100
AP Classes - Physics B(4), AP US(5), AP Eng(5), AP Span(5), AP Stats(5)

Clubs- Rowing Club, Science Olympiad, Red Cross
Sports - Wrestling Team, Basketball League outside of school, practiced Muay Thai Martial Arts for over 4 years

I would like to double major in mathematics and engineering in college. Does it help if I opt to pay for college by myself, without financial aid?

THANKS. Any help whatsoever would be appreciated!

@NYLannister He has taken sat subject tests… they’re called SAT II’s. @OP You have a GREAT chance at any of those schools, especially since you’re a URM.

Your stats look great. Well suited for your intended major. Unfortunately unless you are being recruited for sports at top schools sports aren’t the best EC to have. But your science Olympiad does look good. I think you have just as much of a chance as any other student. Good luck!

clearly these supercompetitive school have few matches.
I would say your solid SAT/GPA and SAT2s show u can consistently score well.
Your EC are awesome too? i dont see any leadership position though, try to find one!
that being said i think all the schools on your list are low reaches, except for Princeton, which i would put as a solid reach.
