PLEASE HELP - chances for engineering schools??

I’m interested in being a civil engineering major and wanted to know my chances of getting into the colleges of engineering for some schools.

    - Senior Editor
  • Student Council
    - Junior Class Secretary
    - Senior Class President
  • Interact
    - Community Service Officer
  • Team America Rocketry Club

Volunteering:
- Used to volunteer at a nursing home over the summer
- Volunteered at a children’s museum for a few months

I’ve never won or placed in any special competitions and am not a part of any Honor Societies.

Colleges I’m thinking about (please note that I’m interested in applying as a Civil Engineering Major):
- UW Madison
- University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
- UC Berkeley
- Purdue
- University of Minnesota Twin Cities
- Washington University in St. Louis
- University of Michigan
- Ohio State
- Iowa State

It’d really help if I could get some input on my chances for these colleges and if some are worth even applying for (whether I should reach higher or aim lower). Also, if I could get some suggestions on other schools that might be a good fit for me as a civil engineering major, that’d be great!

What can your parents afford?
A lot of the schools on your list are public schools which would charge you OOS tuition.

With a 34 act and female you have a great chance at all these. Cal is hard to get into and very expensive, Michigan is also expensive. Cal gives no assistance.

The top undergrad civil engineering programs:
Cal, GaTech, Illinois, Texas, MIT

So you have a top inexpensive program in your state.

All of the schools you’ve mentioned are universities and are not engineering schools. A college needs to be at least 50% stem to be an engineering school.

Do you need merit $$?
