<p>M2ck - your kids were in the honors college, right? An honors college is generally speaking like a little LAC inside a university. This may indeed be the best of all worlds.</p>

<p>My experience in tech fields at research universities is that professors are indeed focused very heavily on grad students - but I’m sure this is not universally true.</p>

<p>At a LAC professors who interact with students are going to interact with undergrads - that is a given at a LAC. It doesn’t mean you can’t get the same thing at a university - it depends on many factors.</p>

<p>My D met a professor at a LAC we visited. He took an immediate interest in her and they were like old friends by the time we left. He has since sent her a book he wrote and has invited her to a conference where he is speaking. Obviously, a professor who shows such interest in a HS junior must treat his full time students pretty well!</p>
