I just applied to five schools. For 2 of the schools, the dashboard reads "Submitted - January 1, 2014 ET." For 3 of them, it says January 2. Deadlines are 1/1.

I am in NY (eastern time) so all 5 of them were submitted TODAY

Mine all say that, even though I submitted them all today (the 1st). It’s probably just some weird internal server error. Don’t worry about it!

From Common App’s facebook page:
“Submissions are always recorded in Eastern Time, but as long as you submit on deadline day by 11:59 PM your local time, you’ve met the deadline.”

Thanks guys! I have to admit that I was freaking out a bit before you guys chimed in.

Yea i was freaking out too. I submitted at 8ish central time. But it still says January 2nd.

Same thing happened with my applications, all time stamped for January 2nd on the dashboard. I’ve heard about this glitch happening in past years, though. I’d say as long as the time stamp in the specific school tabs (not on the dashboard) are stamped correctly, then you’re fine.

Make sure you select 1/1/2014 on the final submission page, where they ask you for a signature.

I just submitted 4 applications and they are all submitted on 1/1/2014

Hey, it’s fine as long as you submit it before 11:59. I guess it says that on the dashboard because it’s set in Universal time, I think is what the Common App calls it. I had the same issue and found this info on the site.

All common app member colleges with a Jan 1 deadline will accept any app submitted on Jan 2. https://twitter.com/commonapp
