(I know, they are horrible. In freshman year my brother was 2 and going through severe autism while screaming for hours on end----not exaggerating btw---so it was very difficult to study) I am top 5-7% of the class, though as we have a notoriously tough curriculum and no one has a perfect gpa.

Anyways, my PSAT score (which was a practice one in freshman yr was a 210, and I took the Chem SAT 2 and expecting 750+). And no, I don't have an SAT score yet, but I have always scored in the 99% in my standardized tests.

Here are my extracurriculars:
Robotics (from 9th grade...running for operational president next yr)
President of Mind Teaser Club

You are panicking about being “chanced,” correct? If you are only a sophomore with no test scores, THAT is why you are not being “chanced.” Just continue to do your best in school and worry about this next year. It is too early to be so “hyped.” What you need to do is precisely what you ARE doing: working hard.

okay, thanks…that kind of cools me down a little bit. but EVERYONE in my grade is talking about college and really stressing me out…

like before tests our english teacher says: remember, stanford and harvard are always looming over you. small envelopes are in your horizon. like WTH!

I do know how you feel. But don’t stress out now, it is WAAAY too early. And try not to get sucked into the college mania among your classmates. You are clearly doing well in school. Don’t allow this frenzy to impact your determination to just keep: taking the most rigorous classes you can; being involved in MEANINGFUL Ecs. And above all, enjoy high school. The kids who seem to do the best in admissions are ones who really do focus on doing well in high school without doing things just to get into a certain college. If you do well and follow your passions, and APPLY INTELLIGENTLY, you WILL get into a school you want to attend.

Just don’t panic. It is FAR too early to be doing chance threads. Wait until next year when you have test scores… Really, don’t get caught up in the frenzy! And your English teacher is using a really unfortunate tactic to motivate students. Ignore it! Keep doing what you are doing and you will be fine

All things have a season. For you, tis NOT the season to be stressing about college. OK?
