PLEASE HELP - deferred from Michigan state

I recently found out I was deferred from Michigan state in December and they want to see my first semester grades. I applied with a 3.45 GPA and a 25 ACT. I got a 3.72 gpa first quarter this year and a 4.0 my second quarter but waiting for my final semester grade before I can send it. I also sent a letter to the admissions officer who received my application about how Michigan state is my number one choice and a recent resume update and also how if I get admitted I will for sure attended. What are my chances of getting admitted into fall 2018 instead of spring semester 2019?

I think you’ll get in for the fall. Just send your grades in. If not, Spring is usually less competitive, and a semester of community college would really add weight to your scores.

Just some insight on where you might stand. I was accepted for spring semester but waitlisted for fall and I had a 28 ACT, 1280 SAT, 3.33 GPA, and advanced courses in Engineering and Math. I had multiple extra curricular and over 200+ hours of volunteering. They requested my first quarter grades in November and I had a 3.82 on those grades. Not going to lie I’m kinda pissed because I was told by 2 of my school counselors that I should be good enough for fall admission.

I also have taken 4 AP classes and received A’s and B’s in all of them

Did you end up getting in for fall admission? Or is this year that you’re still waiting

I have the same issue! I got deferred admittance for spring 2019 as well. I have a 3.5 GPA, 6 AP’s with A’s and an 1120 SAT. I really hope we are both admitted in the fall. I really really want to attend.

You might have a better chance now as a result of what’s going on. They might have low yield this year.

So what happened, did you guys get in?
