I am a currently a freshmen in high school. I was wondering what I must do to possibly get into an ivy league school? For a brief road map, I will list the classes and the grades I have in them to help you guys determine my chances
Pre-Ap Geography - 94%
Pre-Ap Biology - 99%
Pre-Ap Geometry - 87%
Business Marketing - 93%
Speech and Debate - 98%
Tennis - 100%
Pre-Ap English - 93%

You haven’t spent even a semester in high school.

Stop. Just focus on getting good grades and doing extracurriculars you enjoy.

@Maddie929 - First off, once you get to academic institutions at the lvl of Ivies or UC’s, chances of ANYONE getting in are slim. As a freshmen, you should just focus on maintaining a consistently high GPA, finding something you have a passion for and excelling at whatever that may be, and just enjoying your time in HS. Get into some EC’s as @bloodythunder suggested if you aren’t already. Keep courses rigorous, don’t become a robot though in the way you live (ie. maintain social life to an extent if possible, don’t be 24/7 studying, it just adds to stress).

Again, your a freshmen. You can look ahead, but already asking for chances to get into an Ivy is excessive. Don’t worry, you have time. Enjoy HS in the meantime :)

The chances of you getting into an Ivy this year are zero. The chances of you getting into an Ivy next year are also zero. The chance of you getting into an Ivy the year after that are also zero. Come back the year after that and people can hazard a “guess” at your chances. Nine weeks of grades and your asking your chances? I’ve never seen anything so absurd! Go be a high school kid and get off CC!

Relax. You’re a freshman. Keep up your grades, but don’t let that be your sole focus. Find what you love to do, and do it. Have a social life. Hang out with friends. Form relationships with teachers. Don’t be so college-focused so soon. Advice I’d also give my freshman self. EDIT: and for the love of God, get off of CC and enjoy life!

I agree with all the above posters. Your chances now are probably near the admission rate of the Ivies, meaning that there isn’t enough info. Focus on getting good grades, taking the most rigorous classes available while balancing your life out, finding your passion, making friends, and enjoying life.

Btw I have never heard of “Pre-AP geometry” - seems like an oddly named course since there is no AP geometry.

I think the thing I struggle with is time management. I am currently in debate and tennis which I assume counts as EC. But with debate alone, I spent so much time on it that most of the time I have to stay up really late to finish homework or projects. Do you guys have any advices for this?

I really want to join clubs but Monday through Friday after school I would either have tennis practice or debate tournaments on Thursdays.

@Maddie929, these are the kinds of things that real people in your real life should be helping you with. Talk to your parents, your friends, your teachers, your guidance counselor. Those real world relationships will be part of the whole picture of your life when you apply to college in 4 years. In fact, the time spent cultivating a relationship with a school counselor will have exponentially greater value for you than every post on CC combined.

Seriously, if I were your mom (or you) I would get you off CC completely for the next 2 and 1/2 years. Spend every minute you would have wasted here reading a book or devoted to a hobby, sport, however you love to spend your time. In 3 years you’ll have a built or enriched a whole aspect of yourself and your life. There’s nothing that can happen here that could compare to that. Stop thinking about college until the middle of junior year. That’s how to become someone who might be accepted to Yale
