Please Help Future Undergrad

Hi all

Need some help regarding where to apply to.
I'm looking for a Public/Private school for Liberal Arts Undergrad. I don't plan to declare my major up front. Therefore a school that would require that would be off the list. I'm taking the SAT in June and the SAT Subject Tests in October.
I've got mainly C's and B's in High School but I think I could do really well on the SAT. Don't have much in the extra curriculars division. So here's what I've chalked out till now.

University of California, Los Angeles
University of California, Berkeley
University of California, Santa Barbara
University of California, Irvine
Denison University
Oberlin College
University of Washington, Seattle
???

I think 8 is the maximum number I can apply to. I wouldnt particularly like to go to a LAC since Big universities appeal to me for a number of reasons though I wouldn't mind a good LAC.

Would the above schools be good for Liberal Arts undergrad? And what are the chances of Internationals (Indian) getting in? I know that UCLA and UCB are really hard to get into. What about the rest? Would applying for aid to the above schools decrease my chances of getting in?

I'm really confused. Also since the UCs need SAT plus the subject tests would it make sense to send my scores to them when I register for SAT (tomorrow)?? or should I be sending my when I do the Subject tests?

Also I need one more college to complete the 8 that I want to apply to.

If you think I could apply to other colleges, please name them.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

If you don't want to go to a LAC, why are Denison and Oberlin on your list? They both have under 3000 students. :) I'm not too familiar with the UC system, but I'm fairly certain UCB and UCLA would be reaches with that GPA. Almost all universities are need-aware for internationals, so unfortunately that will hurt you.

The University of Georgia might be a good fit, if you don't mind the east coast. Possibly UT Austin, although it might be more of a reach. Evergreen State would be a nice safety, although it's smaller than the others.

To be honest (no disrespect intended)... If your record is mainly B's and C's with very little involvement in extracurriculars, you can scratch-off all those schools from your list... they will all be reaches... until you get your standardized test scores, it will be very difficult to advise you at this point... but you are going to need stellar scores to get into competitive schools.

Thanks for the replies.

I've actually visited Denison and Oberlin which is why they are on my list. From what I saw both colleges were great. Like i said, I wouldn't mind a good LAC and the above two, I wouldn't mind.

Would you know if the above LACs provide aid to international applicants?

What kind of scores do you figure I will need on SAT Reasoning and Subject to get into the schools that are on my list?

what about kenyon? clearly the best school in ohio. but it'd be a big reach for you. denison would be more reach/match but again why would you want to go to a school where majority of the kids end up working at mcdonald's. oberlin is on par with kenyon but the campus is just plain ugly.

big reaches: case western, pomona, claremont mckenna
reaches: usandiego
reach/match: cal state
