<p>Yes, you can pay the college board to supress the score.</p>
<p>You generally don't send AP scores in for admissions, it's almost always self-reported. AP scores need to be sent to colleges after you enroll so they know what you can place out of, and by that point, it's not going to matter (they're not going to pull your admission because of it).</p>

<p>I dont' think they'll penalize you for a 1 (or reject you for it), but of course, if your grade for the year corresponds pretty well with that, then they might be less likely to accept you (in essence, if you failed or came pretty damn close, it'l probably hurt you)</p>
