Hi, this is my first SAT essay I wrote. Please help me give it a score. Thank you so much.

Assignment: Should people make more of an effort to keep some things private? Plan and write an essay in which you develop your point of view on this issue. Support your position with reasoning and examples taken from your reading, studies, experience, or observations.

People tend to isolate themselves, barring friends and family out of their minds. Privacy is now an important issue in life. Facebook settings allow users to make all of their facebook contents incredibly private. That's a good thing seeing as statisticians once mentioned that a person's social security number could be identified 8% percent of the time - using only Facebook. However, feelings and emotions should not be kept private. How we feel should be shared to other caring friends or parents. In terms of feelings, people should not make more of an effort to keep our feelings private as it tends to lead to their ultimate downfall.

In House M.D., an American T.V. show, a doctor named Doctor Kutner died because he failed to confide his suicidal feelings in others. The day Dr. Kutner was found dead in his room, a handgun laid next to him in the puddle of dark red blood. Initially, detectives decided that Kutner had committed suicide. However, Kutner's friends and colleagues wondered why on earth would Kutner take his own life away. After a few days, Doctor House (Kutner's boss) discovered a picture of Kutner looking depressed and gloomy. In the end, Kutner's team concluded that when Kutner failed to turn to his friends when he felt depressed, Kutner also failed to save his own life. Kutner might have been saved if only he had thought of turning to his friends for help.

We see this same idea in Desperate Housewives, another well-known American T.V. Show. One of the housewives committed suicide because she was driven somewhat insane by a threatening but anonymous note. Alice Young, the deceased housewife, once committed a terrible act that she got away with. When another mysterious women discovered the truth, this mysterious woman sent a note to Alice Young: "I know what you did. It makes me sick. I'm going to tell." This message was highly disturbing to Alice, yet Alice failed to confide her terrified feelings to her husband or her other friends. Because Alice keep her feelings private, her disturbed mind drove her to shoot herself in the head.

While it is important to keep some information about ourselves private, it is also important to share some information, such as our emotions. Letting other people realize what we feel about something may even save lives. Dr. Kutner and Alice Young both failed to share their feelings, so as a result, both of them ended up dead, killed by their own hands.
