PLEASE HELP! Have I made the right choice?!?! (2 days?)

Have I made the right choice?!? I decided on UMiami, over SMU and UGA. I've always seen myself being in a fraternity, and in/near a city. I'm open minded and want to hang out with kids who like to go to shows and enjoy life. I'm fairly preppy, and I'm not sure if UMiami is that way which sort of worries me, but I believe it is the best choice for ME!

I want
-Social Life
-Atmosphere/Surrounding Town or City (SHOWS/CONCERTS!)
-Campus and People
-Nature (something I feel that UMiami sort of lacks)
-Adventure
-A Place where I can feel like an individual
-Reputation/Academics

You have no idea how much I would appreciate it if you could help me out!!!!

THANKS ALOT!

well i don’t mean to disagree with you (both miami and smu are great schools), but i think smu might be a better fit for you. (i’ve visited both) you mentioned you want to be in a frat- smu is undoubtedly better. do you know the book pledged? it was based off of smu greeks. as for cool surroundings i love miami, but i would put it on the same level as dallas for college students. socially (that seems to be big for you) i think smu might be better. miami is fabulous and normally i would rank it above dallas, but thats also if your over 21. miami is big on the bar/club scene and under 21 (which you will be for 2-3 of your 4 years) miami won’t be the best. umiami, from what i’ve heard, doesn’t really have a campus vibe. i know they technically have social networks, but i think the people who have the best time there are those who have friends from school but spend all their time off campus. smu you can go five minutes from your dorm and have so much fun. nature? i think both miami and dallas lack. i don’t know- you’ll have a great time wherever you go and receive a marvelous education, but i think miami might not be perfect for you. don’t let me make you nervous though- with these two schools you can’t really go wrong.

I don’t know either school, but you may always have buyer’s remorse. Pick a school and don’t look back. Move on and love the fraternities, social life, etc. of the school that seemed best.

SMU just seems so country club and snobby. I feel like if I went there it would just be four years of fun and wasted education just like my sister and all her friends

Ignore Dpc1192. He’s the reason why people think that. Because he consistently spreads dumb rumors.

SMU is a great school. I’m a senior and I love it. You will too! :)

you made your choice, go with your gut and don’t look back. seriously

Actually my sister went there and it definitely full of close minded rich conservatives.

It is for sure snobby.

You seem to be pretty close minded yourself.

dpc1192

Congrats! You’re a Cane!!!

I know you have put LOTS of thought into your decision and really hope you come to love UMiami the way my daughter does!

As for nature, join the scuba club (biggest on campus) and you will see lots of underwater nature!!!

Welcome to the U!!!
