please help: how do i have lunch with my potential yale interviewer

hey, i received the yale book award and apparently in our area, the people who will present the award to me..well one of them might also be my future interviewer. i'm going to have lunch with them next week.

so please help me. i'm so scared/nervous. how should i prepare? what should i eat? what should i wear? what should i even talk about? ahhhh i'm really worried. how do i deal with this kind of situation? i really appreciate any help/tips i might get thanks=)

just be yourself... don't get yourself so worked up, be funny and interesting. Just try to show that side of you that's not all that academic so that when you get to the interview he has a good idea of your personality. that's my opinion.

interesting situation though :P

You should wear, depending on the weather and the kind of place you'll be eating, a pair of nice pants or a casual skirt (I'm assuming from your screen name that you're female). No jeans, no flip-flops. If you're at a loss for what to say, or if the conversation flags, ask the people you're eating with what they liked most about Yale. And don't order spaghetti. :)

^ or burritos... or anything spicey for that matter ^_^'

wear a costume, they like quirky outfits they make you standout :p

Eat something easy. For instance, don't eat soup, which could spill.

Be yourself. If you know who's taking you to lunch, Google them to find out about them. That will give you an idea of what kind of things might be good subjects to talk about with them. Of course, it's always good to ask alum about their experiences at their alma mater including good points and bad points about it.
