woot! Happy last M1!

@eastpanther77,
I’m just curious … is there something that says a varsity letter is required for admissions? Back in the dark ages, there was no requirement for such a thing. You had to be physically fit, most appointees were extremely fit and athletic, but nobody cared about any “magical” varsity letter. They just cared about your level of fitness. Out of curiosity, I briefly perused the admissions pages, but I did not see any varsity letter requirement. Thanks!

There isn’t a requirement of needing a varsity letter. I tried looking around briefly, but i couldn’t find any hard statistics. from one of the fact sheets I remember getting from my ALO a few years ago, I believe it was at least 80% of appointees had a varsity letter. So it’s not really required, and you can definitely get in without one, but a majority of the current cadets did receive one.

Eastpanther, you still have two years. Many of the “less competitive” teams at high schools don’t require great amounts of talent. I basically walked onto my HS tennis team. Organized sports really do help (not mandatory, but something like 87% of appointees have a letter).
