I went to a different highschool in ninth grade. I was not exactly sure if I was supposed to get that school to send my transcript to the college I am applying to (yale, brown, Joint Program between Columbia and JTS, Tufts, and Brandeis). However, I am trying to get it sent anway. Yale and Brown’s application deadlines are Dec. 31. The high school I went to in 9th grade still has not sent the transcript, and they won’t send it until they come back after winter break which lasts until Jan. 3. Will that be okay? What should I do?

meh, i have the same problem. i went to school in Hong Kong for 9th grade and on McGill's online application status checker it says they're expecting a transcript from that school. though my grades from that year are on my current school's transcript. meh.

I am pretty sure that when you change secondary schools, your new school gets the official copy of that transcript.

I switched schools after my sophmore year and I have already been accepted to college without even contacting my first school.

Even if those colleges want transcripts you will be fine sending them any day before ~jan 15th

I called one of my friends, who has read almost every single college admissions book out there, and he said that it is okay if some items come in the mail past the deadline. I'm going to get everything sent ASAP using priority mail, and everything will be fine. Thanks for your advice! I wish everyone luck in the college admissions process.
