Please help kind of in a weird position!

Greetings all!

Well here it goes, Im a JC student who just recently got accepted into SFSU for spring 2014, I have accepted there offer but I also applied for UCD,UCB, UCLA, and UCSB for fall of 2014.

my questions is If i get accepted into UCB, UCLA, or UCD, which are my top picks can i drop out of SFSU the very first semester and accept my UC offer for fall 2014 ( currently registered for 2 classes at SFSU to begin on January 27 these classes are also upper division so juniors level and senior level only i don’t know if it makes a difference)

Would I need to tell UC or not really? they are two different institutions and my lower division credits are all from the JC and none from SF state

The admission lady at SFSU said I wouldn’t really need to notify any of the UC of the drop from my first semester since they are two different institutions and they rarely communicate to each other unless it is a CSU to UC transfer or the other way etc.

Please help you time is greatly appreciated!

My understanding is that UCs are MUCH more willing to accept transfers from JCs than from other 4-year Us. I’d talk with the guidance counselor at your CC. I don’t think the info you got from SFSU sounds right and would be sure to confirm it. You would be transferring from SFSU to a UC, NOT from the JC if you attend SFSU and then try to get into a UC. All Us require ALL your academic records in your app.

I do not think that is allowed and there are ways for colleges to find that out. You are not allowed to pull a stunt like that and it would hurt you to conceal it. If you accepted SFSU that that’s it. Go talk to your CC adviser ASAP.
