So I'm currently in AP Calculus BC. I'm struggling. MAJORLY. Next week is the last opportunity to switch classes. I'm full IB and I was just going to switch into Math Studies IB instead. Look, I know this is a step down. Colleges are impressed with Calc, but I'm a politics person. I intend to major in PolySci or IR. I AM NOT A MATH PERSON. Could this switch ultimately hurt my admission chances? I'm very stressed about this. Any advise would be great. thanks :)

Math Studies SL is a two-year course. Are you a junior or a senior?

at my school, Math Studies SL is a one year course (HL is two years).

It could hurt, but I’m guessing that the stress of taking the class would hurt you more. In that situation, I’d advise my kid to switch (but I’m not familiar with IB). Good luck.

If your gonna struggle with BC, then just drop down to the IB math. It’s still IB, so the drop-off isn’t too significant. CLASS OF 2011!! :)

You took AB, so not taking BC won’t hurt by any chance.

ha, no. my school goes straight from Pre-Calc to BC. no AB I decided to stick it out, thanks everyone for the advise!
