<p>If the parent has more than $100,000 in the bank and if they have houses, but their income is low, it's not worth it to file, right, because they only give Pell grants to people with less than $57,000 in the bank? </p>
<p>To get the Pell grant you have to file FAFSA (you don’t apply for the Pell grant seperately). To be eligible for the Pell grant for the 2008-2009 year your EFC generated by FAFSA must be 4041 or below.</p>
<p>You should file FAFSA anyway as it is neccesary for unsubsidized Stafford loans.</p>
