Hi i’m currently a rising senior about to start my applications but i would like some input on my chances i current have a 3.75 gpa and my sat score was a 1670/2400 or 1100/1600 but i plan on taking it again in October. I’m pretty involved in my school with sports taking up a majority of my time which includes wrestling and lacrosse. I have wrestled and played lacrosse for all years of my high school career too. I’m also involved in FBLA and DECA. I’m in the National Honor Society and National English Honor Society also. Not to mention I also attend a high school with 4000 kids and the majority of my classes are honors or AP. With all this information I was hoping to apply to University of Pittsburgh, University of Maryland, Syracuse University, Drexel University, Temple, Penn State MAIN, UMBC and maybe some more later. Any comment would be useful and greatly appreciated. P.S: If i have to I will apply early if it gives me any higher chance of getting in.
At this moment all I would like to know is if I can get in I will worry about the cost later.
Hi Whaleboy. I could possibly give some incite. Is the 3.75 GPA a weighted or unweighted GPA?
I’m going to assume it is weighted.
University of Pittsburgh: Mid reach
University of Maryland: High reach
Syracuse: Mid reach
Drexel: Low reach
Temple: High Match
Penn State: High Match
UMBC: Match
If you show enough interest in some of these schools (call them, ask them questions/over the phone interview or actually visit the campus), I’m sure they will be more interested in accepting you.
Also get those SAT scores up - the writing and math are much easier to improve than the reading (IMO and many others)!
