I have graduated from community college in Brooklyn, NY with a degree in Liberal Arts.
After, I studied for some time Management Information Systems at Temple University Fox School of Business.
I really loved Temple’s MIS program, had 4.0 GPA my first semester, and the program is one of the best for MIS. But I am forced to continue studying online because it would be easier for me to manage work, family, and education. Temple does not offer online programs, so here are some I applied to and got accepted:
1). Washington State University (MIS major) (500/cr)
2). UMASS Lowell (Information Technology w. Business Minor) (380/cr)
3). Fort Hays State University (MIS major) (my top choice due to very low tuition- 187 per credit)
4). Southern New Hampshire University (Inoformation Technology major, but possibly Business minor with extra classes)(370/cr)
5). Colorado State University Global Campus (MIS major) (their diploma will have Global Campus seal so potential employers will know degree was obtained online) (350/cr)
6). Bellavue University (CIS major with Business Minor) (heard many negative things about university) (380/cr)
7). Florida Tech Online (IT w. Business Concentration) (550/cr)
I am not working right now in IT/Business industry so I will need a school that would best prepare me for entry level job. CSU Global Campus is mostly individuals who are already working in industry and just need a degree for promotion.
Only schools 1,2,7 are AACSB accredited. All schools are regionally accredited.
Schools 3,4 are the cheapest and as of now my main two schools.
My career goal is to work either in Digital Marketing/Social Media, eCommerce, Cybersecurity (with possibly future master degree) or any other management position in IT industry. I do not want to work as IT help desk so that;s why I am worried which will prepare me best.
PLEASE, if you know anything about listed schools, can recommend any, or say negative things about any, I would really appreciate it.
I will be a transfer student with 85 credits so will need only 2-3 years to graduate. I am 25, no experience in industry, and am worried that graduating at 28 with online degree, no work experience will be a waste of time, money(loans) and put me in the dead end.
Thank you to anybody who is willing to advice me on choosing the best school!
