Please Help me choose between: SUNY Buffalo, SUNY Binghamton, Northeastern, Boston University, U. Rochester, The Ohio State U., and Penn State.
I would love to know what anyone thinks of which school is best for me to advance. I know hard work and connections are very important but I am more concerned about the rankings. I am also awaiting on the Financial Aid Packages for many of these schools.
I have also been wait-listed at Emory and Oxford Colleges (part of Emory), Boston College, Cornell Dyson, NYU Stern, and UMICH LSA. My life took a humongous turn after my Rochester decision. I pray for the best but I need a college to declare to.
Until you know the financial aid picture you shouldn’t make any final judgments. There are a bunch of very good choices on there. Which one is further from home? Which one makes you happier to think about? In my opinion, the place where you are happiest is the place you are more likely to succeed and excel.
@ninakatarina Which would you place at the top in terms of ranking for Business/Finance? Sorry for being so blunt but I am very concerned about this. I live in New York and I am not too worried about where I will live as a student.
for business and finance NYU Stern is top on this list. UMich is also great. BU/Northeaster/URochester around the same quality but dont have the same level of recruitment as the other two if you are going into finance
Did you get into Smeal at Penn State? I remember another poster on CC speaking extremely highly of the program. Penn State and Ohio State U are the highest ranked in business of your acceptances.
@bouders Yes, I got into Smeal. But it will cost me $52k a year. OSU Fisher is even higher ranked but many people are telling me that BU Questrom and NEU D’Amore are more prestigious. Of the three, I am confused as to determine which is better.
@ccfk1221 Unfortunately, I have not been accepted (yet) to Stern or Ross. From BU Questrom, Rochester Simon, NEU D’Amore, and OSU Fisher, which would you rank as the best for Finance/Business?
For finance Simon may have a slight advantage over the rest. It has been tough breaking into finance since industry is getting smaller and banks are not hiring as they used to. BU is a good place overall with access to many other opportunities in Boston area but business school is pretty average
@ccfk1221 This opinion goes against everything I have seen online. I have been told that NEU and BU are the best on my list and that I should choose between those two. Now, I am just split between them.
well it depends who you want to take your advice from - my cousin went to BU then to Columbia worked in finance in NYC and London and said there was no way to find good finance job after BU but he has seen plenty of people from Simon working in finance. Northeastern I am not sure about as it has been going up - not sure about recruitment there
