Please help me choose colleges!

Hi,

I was hoping somebody could help me decide which schools to apply to for Computer Science/engineering.

I am an Indian citizen and will definitely need financial aid.

Good academics, ECs seem fairly decent, Recommendations should be good,
SAT I 2270, will take SAT II in October

Right now I am looking at two schools in Canada and 8 in the US.
In Canada I will be a pplying to U of Toronto and U of Waterloo. Based on my research, they are the best schools in Canada for CS/CE.

Regarding the US, I am applying to 4 'aid' schools - USC, Stanford, Caltech and MIT and 3 safety schools - UT Austin, GATech, UIUC.

I am also looking at Purdue, UPenn, Cornell, Cooper Union, Princeton & Harvard.

I had a few questions:
1. Is USC good for CS/CE?
2. Does anybody know any intl. students getting aid at the safety schools I mentioned?
3. Do Princeton & Harvard have good Engineering Programs?
4. Is Cooper Union in the same league as Cornell?
5. Is Purude any good? What are the chances of aid for an intl. student there?
6. I just want to be sure but I can't go wrong with UPenn's M&T program right?

Also if you could tell me where I have very little chance of getting financial aid it'll be really helpful.

Thanks a lot!
Saatvik

CSE and no Cal?

You mean Caltech right?
Yes, I'll be applying there as I mentioned

Cal Berkeley

Harvard is not known for strong engineering. Cooper Union is not of the same caliber as Cornell; Cornell is better. Cooper Union is different from other engineering schools. Yes, Purdue is very good. USC is good but others on your list are better. Check out Carnegie Mellon for computer engineering.

I did look at Carnegie Mellon initially but when I realised that they didn't offer aid to international students I decided not to apply there. It's quite expensive ~45,000. I'm not applying to Berkeley for the same reason, at 38,000 an year without aid, my family can't really afford it.
