Please help me choose which UC to attend.

TAG at UCI, they have a good med school and Irvine is in Socal so it’ll be more comfortable for a non-tradition student. Unless you really want to move up north, I don’t recommend it.

OP might also want to include Cal Poly SLO. A neighbor of mine had a son who went to the local cc, then transferred to SLO for premed. He graduated from Medical School last year, and is now a resident in Northern California.

Nice take, SMC, but I think the commute from SD to Irvine would be a bit too much. It’d take a toll on the OP’s study habits for premed if that’s what he ultimately chooses.

If OP’s considering SB for premed, he might as well consider SDSU for proximity since SD’s out. Neither is a premed hotbed, and I don’t think attending SB for premed because it’s a UC will have significant advantages over SDSU. I’ve heard of a couple of students who xfered out of UCLA because it was too competitive for premed to CSU’s and still became MDs.

I still think, though, that there should be something said for entering a school that has a good community of premeds. I think I and D are still the choices here because of their strong premed curricula and having a lot of students in them, and maybe sub in SDSU if the OP wants to live at home.
