Hi!

Ever since I was young I have wanted to be a cardiovascular surgeon and go to Harvard University. Even though I go to one of the top ten ISD's in the nation, no one really told me about how important GPA's are or how I should be able to balance my classes. This year as a sophomore in high school I see my horrible Freshman year grades and my decent A-B-C grades for my first part of my sophomore year (August to November).

From the forums I have seen kids who have said similar questions like me, and how the people who have answered the questions have said that they might have a chance to go to Princeton or other Ivy Leagues Schools. The reason of this they say is because they really do not take into consideration the Freshman year and if they see an amazing upward trend to all A's, they would consider you.

So going to my full question. Is it still possible to me to go to Ivy League Universities if I work my tail off my second semester (last 18 weeks of school for my sophomore year) and take mostly all AP/Honors classes in my Junior and Senior years and do amazing in them?

And Also I do not know what sport I should pick up again so colleges would be more interested in me (more rounded) . Soccer, Swimming, Football.. and I want to try Crew
