I have no idea which to pick. I am an international student majoring in civil engineering.
UCLA - high overall ranking, but not an engineering school
UIUC - top engineering school, not as prestigious as UCLA
Which school do you think that would give me a brighter future?
Are prices the same?
for engineering go UIUC
yeah . cost of attendance is about the same.
UIUC if you are positive that you want to major in engineering.
I’ve already admitted to both UIUC and UCLA for civil engineering.
UCLA is an engineering school, they have about six buildings just based on engineering!
I think UCLA is not well-known because of their engineering achievements, while UIUC is one of the top engineering schools in the nation. And I guess UIUC have more buildings for engineering studies.
Let’s focus on more about civil engineering field. So you say UCLA is a better engineering school?
I’m wondering why you didn’t apply to cal- Berkeley since is number 1. If I were you just choose UIUC
I’m an undergrad student, and I was denied by UC Berkeley . I’m only accepted by UIUC, UCLA, Purdue, and GT.
UCLA is great for networking theory but that’s CSE. Overall UIUC has great reputation regarding its engineering program but I don’t know the specifics about civil engineering. But it for sure beats UCLA in CS and CE.
But the acceptance rate means nothing because lots of kids from Southern Cal apply to UCLA. Lots more people here.
So everybody recommends UIUC over UCLA ? cool
If you’re a prestigious person pick UCLA, if not pick UIUC
