I’ve been accepted to CAS at BC and to H&SS at CMU. I plan to major in one of these subjects: sociology/psychology (/philosophy). Generally in Social Sciences…

I am mostly concerned with better

academic programs
research facilities
reputation

but also worried about the expenses and diversity within the school.
Any comments and thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

I also got into both last year and chose BC.

CMU is ranked higher, but I find that BC is actually more well-known nationally. Also, CMU is known for art, music, and engineering, but not liberal arts. So, CMU’s program would not be better than BC’s in your case.

Also, I got into CMU’s art program, and BC’s is not nearly is good. But I’m also double-majoring, so art was not my final decision-maker.

Finally, I know a lot of kids at CMU who say there isn’t much of a social scene there.
