Hi everyone! I’m currently mainly deciding between mainly three schools, and really need help with making a decision. I’m interested in studying computer science in college. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on Rice vs. Vanderbilt vs. the University of Southern California?
Vanderbilt will be likely cheaper than Rice and USC. Over four years, it may save around 36k (just an estimate looking at solely tuitions and the aid each college gave for the first year). Rice and USC will cost around the same, with USC being a little more expensive.
I think Rice’s Houston location can open up opportunities for internships, jobs, etc, and same with USC for jobs and internships in California. Right now I’m leaning more towards Rice or Vanderbilt, but still can’t choose between the three. Also, I haven’t really found that much about Vanderbilt computer science online, so please comment below if you know more about it. I am drawn by the lower price, but would it be valuable to invest a little extra to go to a school such as Rice/USC?
Please provide me with input, anything is appreciated, thank you so much! (also WashU is an option but will cost significantly more – although I may consider it as well, let me know your thoughts) Thanks again for the help!
