Hi!
Could you guys please help me in deciding whether I have a good chance of getting into Wellesley or schools of that level like Amherst, Williams? They are my dream schools!
I am currently a sophomore in high school and hoping to get recruited to their Division III Team.
Grades: (our school does not do a 4.0 scale, but just average all scores for GPA)
I go to a very good public school, ranked top 15 in New Jersey.
Unweighted GPA: 92
Weighted GPA: 96.00
These scores are for Freshman Year.
SAT II:
I am going to take the Math 2 SAT II this June, my first SAT II.
SAT:
Have not taken this yet! Planning to take it October/ November/ December of my JUNIOR year.
Course Selection: (took all AP classes possible)
Freshman Year: English Honors, World Studies Honors, Algebra II Honors, Spanish III, Physics Honors, Wind Ensemble
Sophomore Year: English Honors, AP U.S History, AP Chemistry, Precalculus Honors, Spanish IV, Wind Ensemble
Junior Year (already selected courses): AP U.S History II, AP Biology, AP English, AP Calculus AB, Spanish Honors, Wind Ensemble
Favorite subject: Language Arts- I love reading and writing essays!
EC’s: My main extra curricular is golf. I was third seed Varsity golf at school my freshman year and am second seed this year. I will be captain my junior and senior year. I just started to play national events last summer. My handicap is 5.5, scores averaging low 80’s. I am trying to get recruited for the Division III at Wellesley. The “good schools” for Division I are mainly Ivies and I don’t think I have the spotless grades (92). Wellesley’s Varsity golfers score around 90-100 but I’m not sure if my grades are good enough. I’m taking a very heavy course load but I’m unsure if my grades qualify!
I write for our school newspaper and hoping to get an editor position next year!
I am a Model United Nations delegate and enjoy debating about world affairs.
I was on the Science Olympiad Regional Team last year.
I also ran winter track last year as well.
Wind Ensemble at my school, 2nd chair!
Couldn’t audition for Regionals freshman and sophomore year because of golf training but I am next year:)
Thanks so much for taking the time to help me!
