Please help me----------drop a math class!!!!!

I am a transfer student with major in applied math. I have already received an admission from UC Berkeley, but I want to drop my current course math 55 (Discrete Mathematicsin).

According to the website (Welcome to ASSIST), math 55(UC Berkeley) is not required for admission. In the website, it also shows,"Of the lower-division requirements for the Mathematics and Appiled Mathematics majors Math 55, Discrete Mathematics, is not required for adimission. If your college offers an articulated course we will accept it, however, we recommend that you complete Math 55 at Berkeley in your first semester".

Based on these informations, I want to konw whether I still can get into Berkeley if I drop my Discrete Mathematicsin with a "W".

I sent an e-mail to UCB adimission officer three days ago, but I didn't receive their answer yet.

Also, the Discrete Mathematicsin course isn't my major courses for UCLA. I have already sent the same e-mail to UCLA, but they answered that they cannot advise students to drop courses and modify their schedule due to their policy. And they cannot guarantee that coursework changes will not affect my original offer of admission.

How should I do? It's too crazy!!!

Why drop it? Assuming you want to be a math major, math is probably the last thing you want to drop. Math 55 or its articulated equivalents may include some practice with proof techniques that can be helpful in upper division math courses.

if they say that “And they cannot guarantee that coursework changes will not affect my original offer of admission.” then you should…i don’t know…NOT drop???

no offense but is this ■■■■■ question or what.

oh and also you’re majoring in math wouldn’t it be better if you took more math courses so that potential job employers can see that?
