Please Help Me I Need Thoughts!!!!

Hi all-

I will be applying to Medill this fall ED but I have a couple of questions.
(Some background: 4.0 UW, 12 APs and 6 honors no Bs, 4.6 Weighted, Great ECs with Harvard and Northwestern Summer journalism Programs, great recs, international volunteering trip, great journalism related ECs [Editor in chief, anchor of tv, director of plays, published on world’s largest swimming website from internship, know a bunch of major figures in the industry who wrote recs], senior class president, 3 honor societies including founder/president of English honor society)

But here is the main dilemma. My SAT score is a 2280, with CR+Math at 1500. Math-800 CR-700 Writing-780. Do you think northwestern will wonder why my READING is the lowest of the three and why math is the highest? Because I’m not interested in math at all. Or will they mainly just take into account the 1500/1600 and think it is very good. This could go either way. I’'d love for input and maybe a chance for ED:)

I would not worry about it as the rest of your stats are solid. For example, the NU 25/75 SAT range is 1390/1560 so you are closer to the 75th percentile.

@londondad what % chance do you think i have of getting in?

It’s hard to say, as it holistic. Probably better than 50% if I had to guess.

msbox - You’re smart enough to realize that nobody other than the adcom that reads your app can answer your question. Unfortunately, that goes for all top schools. As they say, “Tibi reddit pecunie aufert tibi forte”.*

With that said, yes, apply ED - you do have better odds, and your stats do look great. Good Luck!

@nugraddad I just ask people because I do know that nobody has the answers and it is all very subjective. What do you think my odds are?

I got in with a 670 in CR.
