Hello,im an international student and i plan to apply to US universities in january .I have a really important question and i really need to ask you guys and i would be very thankful if you could help me ... I plan to take SATs in fall and they've told me before the results would be announced at least after 24 days from the day of the exam and it would be out officially around 45 days after the exam so the question is would i be able to use the online posted scores for applying to universities of US, i mean would the results be ready before deadlines if i take SATs in OCT 1 and NOV 5 ... how about i take them in NOV 5 and DEC 3 ???
Because as they have application timeline, i'm worried as an international student, the process might take a little more time for me and eventually i wouldn't be able to apply on time so time is really important to me and of course i'm behind in my study schedule ...
So please help me,i'm really worried .... i have to Schedule everything now and i'm so confused ...

When you register for the SAT, you will list the colleges and universities that you want your scores to be sent to. ETS will transmit those scores electronically to each of those places. You don’t have to get the scores yourself before they are sent.

You do need to ask the places where you are applying if the date you plan to take the SAT is OK with them. Most will accept a December exam date, but some might not.

As an international applicant, your best way to start with this whole process is by reading through everything (and I do indeed mean everything) at [EducationUSA | Study Abroad, Student Visa, University Fairs, College Applications and Study in the U.S. / America](http://www.educationusa.info/) Then you should make an appointment with the counselors at the advising center closest to where you live [EducationUSA - Find an Advising Center](http://www.educationusa.info/centers.php) If you cannot visit in person, find out how much help they can give you by phone or email. These counselors are expert at helping students like you find good places to study in the US.

thanks for answering, i did all my researches before starting this whole process … but the problem is i’ve never taken SATs and i’ve been thinking whether i would be able to take SATs in NOV 5 and DEC 3 instead of OCT 1 and NOV 5 and still have chance to apply before universities deadlines in JAN ???
i mean for example if i want to apply to HARVARD and if i take the DEC SAT,would the results be ready before the end of DEC and more impotant would i be still eligible for applying to Harvard ???

Email Harvard and ask if they will accept the results of the December SAT, or if you need to take it earlier than that.

Harvard is apparently taking the results from the Nov test date for early admission, for which the deadline is Nov 1. I find that odd, but it saves me, since I will not have time to take it before then. So I would assume that they would take the DEC test scores for Jan admission, since those are going to get to them a lot earlier than mine will. You can always call to double check, which would be wise to do with every university.

At some schools, late test scores will disqualify you, but at others they will simply call you and tell you that you need to send them in as soon as possible or take the test, at least that was true for the SAT subject tests at UCBerk. Just an example, they are all different. :)

Good luck. :)
