Please help me in finding my chances!

Hello Everyone,

I am applying for colleges this year. I am interested in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and I would possibly consider aerospace engineering, chem engineering, and computer science.

I am considering many colleges, including the following:

Purdue
RPI
CMU
UC's: LA, Berkeley, Davis, San Diego, Santa Barbara
Cornell
Northwestern
Rice
Arizona State University
Stanford
Washington Univ. in St. Louis
University of Illinois (Chicago & Urbana Champaign)
University of Chicago
Princeton

My unweighted GPA is 3.7 (our school does not release weighted).

I have taken the following AP/Honors classes:

AP Computer Science A: A, A
Pre-calculus Honors: B, A
Physics Honors (our school has no AP Physics): A, A
American Lit. Honors: B,B
Chem. Honors: B, B

at Stanford, I took:

AP Calculus A (1 semester): A

This year, I am taking the following AP/Honors classes:

AP Calculus B/C
AP Biology
AP Microeconomics
Spanish 4 Honors

My SAT score is 2140, and I am going to take Math2 and Physics SAT2's very soon.

I have been on the school's badminton team every year until now (9, 10, 11), and I have been on varsity for 10th and 11th grade.

I am in the following clubs:

National Honor Society (10th, 11th)
DECA (Treasurer)
Robotics (9th, 10th)

Outside of school, I am an Eagle Scout and I am an accomplished musician (I have won first and second place in several competitions, and have advanced to the final round of other competitions).

I am almost done with a research project involving programming and music. I am submitting it to a conference soon.

I have over 150 community service hours.

So what do all of you think about my chances? Do you recommend any engineering colleges I would have a good chance of getting into?

Thanks for your help!

First of all, cheers to ASU! :)

You will definitely get in to ASU, I can not speak for the rest.

However, I will tell you this. Even if you have taken an AP class, it would not matter much unless if you have actually taken the AP test. You might want to list your AP scores and show them to the colleges because it will separate you from the applicants who only just took the class.

Oh yeah, I forgot to say I got a 4 on the APCS test. Also, how do you rank the engineering at ASU?

Thanks again!
