Hello while growing up I always wanted to enroll in the naval academy. However i did not even apply my senior year because i knew that i would not get in. My G.P.A was below a 2.0
the reason for that was i missed a lot of high school because of family issues. It had gotten to the point where i did not even want to do well in school and just stay in bed all day. I have gotten things straightened out now though and have taken many tutoring classes to get back to where i should be my 2nd and 3rd quarter i got a 3.5 in all track 1 classes and 1 honor.

I will be enrolling at Valley Forge Military College and know which classes i need to take. If i excel in these classes and get a nomination and get a gpa of above a 3.75 and participate in sports and get above a 1200 on the sat out of 1600 will they take me? Or will my history in High school just be to bad for them to be able to see my improvement and accept me.

Also Valley forge does not have a naval rotc should i enroll in air force or army so i can still get the nomination for the naval academy so i can at least get 1

Honestly, while USNA admissions likes the kind of reversal you’re achieving, it’ll be very challenging. Given your specific projections, I’d make sure you’ve solid plans B and C. Consistent excelling always trumps shorter-term success. Still, the greater issue is how you can and will use your spectacular turnaround to catapult you toward a life of service and worthy calling. Sounds like you’re on your way.

Use your time at Valley Forge well. Great things will come from it that you cannot even imagine right now. But don’t make the mistake of defining “great things” as solely USNA. Your box is too small and confining.

If your goal is to be an officer in the Navy, shouldn’t you attend a college that offers Navy ROTC? Is that a possibility for you?

VF is a good raod to take. The current CNO is a grad of VF (high school). If you are successful at VF, you will be taking a major step toward attaining your goal.

hopefully they take me. If they do not i do not know what my next plans will be. I do have a cousin at the air academy maybe i will try and get a nomination for there to. since i have family there.

I am willing to do anything though to get into the Naval Academy it has been my dream for so long.

Be sure to look at the list of colleges and universities that offer NROTC. Even if you can’t qualify for a NROTC scholarship, if you attend one of those schools, you should be able to join NROTC as a non-scholarship member. Great performance there could possibly earn you a scholarship for your later college years, or you may earn a top recommendation from the CO if you decide to apply to USNA. Best of luck!
