Hey you guys, I got into Clemson about 3 months ago and sent all my deposits in, and the other day I called them about a question I had and they told me about a deposit that I never knew about. I told them that I have been having some trouble with my mail lately, and all they said is that they would have to waitlist me. Im pretty scared and frustrated since I didnt really apply anywhere else since I thought I was already in (other than High Point University), so im wondering what other schools should I apply to in the Southeast in case I dont get my spot at Clemson this late?

I would keep calling Clemson and talk to the head of admissions. Did they cash your deposit checks? What happened with the deposit you missed? Did they attempt to contact you by phone?

Be as nice as possible, but don't take "waitlist" for an answer.

They said they tried to call me, but I havent seen a call from them on my phone. The secretary said she would have to ask the President if I could still enroll, and he called me and said for me to go ahead and send the $700 deposit, but that there would be no guarantee that I would get in due to the fact that they were full. Should I get my mom to call them and tell them about the mail troubles, or should I just deal with this myself?

Send a letter with the deposit, with copies to the president and to the head of admissions. Summarize what has happened and that Clemson is your number one choice. Mention the mail problem, the fact that your phone records all incoming numbers and that there was none from the admissions office, despite what they say (they may have called the wrong number.)

You should be at the very top of their action list. Having you send a deposit sounds like they are willing to cooperate, so keep it polite. You want them to feel sorry for you. :(
