Hey everyone,

My parents #1 pick is University of Washington, largely due to the fact that it more financially viable for us. However, due to my GPA, I was previously thinking that UW would be a high reach, for the average GPA is a 3.65 and only 1% of admitted freshman are from my GPA range. (That means that there are 120 ppl who attend every year with my GPA range). However, the MyChances College Tracker, which I know due to its medium that it has to be taken with a grain of salt, says that I have a 90% chance of getting in. Why is that?

To tell you the truth, I dont think that I have a 90% chance of getting in. The holistic admission committee of University of Washington presents to my situation both condolences and drawbacks. Their admission committee puts a large emphasis on ones extracurriculars, however, they fail to offer admission interviews. In addition, they dont even take admission interviews into consideration, according to US News World Report's Guide to Colleges 2010. In contrast with University of Washington, many private universities like Drew give weight to an interview. In the case of Drew university, I was able to explain clearly my GPA issue and I was able to develop a personal relationship with the Admissions representative for my area. However, since UW does not offer such an opportunity, it will be hard for me to stand out in my application due to the LCD in my app, the GPA.

Taking all of the afore mentioned details into consideration, I humbly seek your help in order to improve my chances at University of Washington.

Thank you for your help,
