please help me pick profs!

i am at freshman orientation right now and i register for classes tomorrow. if you know any great professors for the classes i'm taking, i would really appreciate it!

ch301-principles of chem I
m408n-differential calculus
psy301-intro to psych

i also need to take a fine arts class, but i don't know what to take! please tell me if you know of a class that counts as a fine arts credit that would be easy for a math/science person! i'm terrible at artsy stuff

You may want to have a backup plan for Intro to Psych unless you are a Psych major…They were all closed/restricted when D registered at the first orientation…also D used Myedu dot com alot to look up professors…

Doesn’t myedu.com cost money to view the professor ratings?

$20 a year, if I remember correctly, but it’s insanely worth it. Saved me so much hassle and I ended up with the best teachers who really know what they’re doing.

I think it’s actually 10 bucks, but whatever it is, it’s worth it. There are a few other ratings sites out there that are free but they don’t seem to be as concise - just Google UT Austin professor ratings and you can find them.

CH 301 - Sutcliffe or Laude
Psy 301 - Lewis or Salinas

How is Mccord for chemistry 301?

Hard, to my understanding, but I had Sutcliffe so I can’t say firsthand.

so, i just heard back that i got in my fig which guaranteed me ch301 and psy301. what do you guys know about:

psy301-pennebaker
ch301-sparks

please give me feedback! i was looking at the prof surveys on ut’s website and the ratings showed that these two profs are mostly just average. if any of you guys have personal experience with these profs or have heard anything, i would love to know!

Don’t take Salinas for Psy 301.

Ch301 - laude most definitely

Why not take Salinas for Psy 301? I heard he was pretty easy.

For M408L, most people would recommend Diane Radin. Her class makes the highest grades and she is a good teacher. However, she can be rude at times (she’s from New Yawk).

For Psych Marc Lewis and Juan Salinas are good and have decnt reviews so check them out. Although, Salinas is your best bet IMO.

Laude for CH 301 is closed and only open to some Natural Science FIGs I believe. I got him for CH 301 as a part of my FIG bundle. My FIG is Science Matters.
I got Gosling for PSY 301 and he has good reviews.

ratemyprofessor.com is a good website.
