I'm really worried because I had a low SAT score in math (490) and Williams' average is 600s. My writing score was 690 though (above their average). and I had 105 for the TOEFL ibt. Will not sending the SAT decrease my chances? Or should I just send the TOEFL? Please help.

You need to re-title this with something like “Send SAT or just TOEFL to Williams?”, and re-post it in the International Students Forum. The people there should be able to advise you.

Did I miss something? Is Willims SAT optional?

In all honesty your writing score is not above average for an unhooked candidate at Williams, and with a 490 in math, Williams is not a realistic school for you. Look at their common data set, 1% were admitted with your math score. Most probably a few recruited athletes.

First of all, calm down. If you are 100% sure that you can send the TOEFL instead of the SAT I, do so. Your TOEFL is certainly much higher, and it proves you have English proficiency. If I could, I definitely would not send that SAT I score. Good luck :)

I have worked with many, many international students. That TOEFL score will not get you into Williams. Pause and consider your options. Have you tried the ACT? Do you have schools on your list where your stats are more appropriate?
