I came from a world that spending time with my family and cherishing every moment of it is the most important thing. When I was young I had a complete family that consisted of my grandma, grandpa, dad, mom, and my brother. I never really understood the concept of cherishing every second and moment with them because I always thought that they will be with me forever and that they will never leave me. Until mid September of my 8th grade year where I got a phone call from my parents saying that my grandpa is in the ER room and that they wanted me to leave school early. After getting the devastating phone call, I burst into tears, I felt like I was a wet towel that is dripping with water non stop because no matter how many times I wipe my tears away it will just keep on rolling down my cheeks.
As me and my parents make our way down the busy hospital hall I took a few glances into the patients room and I overheard some of the patients family talking about his/her heart condition and disease. I felt really depressed because I know that having a heart condition can shorten a persons life span. I went to visit my grandpa when he got out of the ER room and when I got there I can tell that he was suffering because he could not talk or swallow properly because my grandpa fell and hit his back of his head on the sharp metal slider on the bath tub which damaged his cerebellum and hypothalamus . A few weeks later my family and my relatives were discussing about my grandpas condition. They said that they did not want to see him suffer anymore so they decided to pull the plug that was connected to a machine that was keeping my grandpas organs and lungs functioning properly.
After attending my grandpas funeral I started to remember the times I pass by the hospital hall overhearing the patients heart conditions, I told myself that I want to be a nutritionist because I want to guide people to a better healthy life. From then on, I take about one to three science classes a year in high school because I am determined to become a nutritionist. I want people to live longer, healthier lives, and to avoid diseases. I do not want their families and friends to go through what I been through. I do not want to them to go through devastating moments, I want them to be spending their life with each other happily. I want to at least be there for every one of them and help them eat better so that they would not eat a lot of fast foods because fast food can increase the risk of atherosclerosis, heart disease and stoke due to the types of ingredients it contains and the amounts people typically consume.
