<p>I am an international student studying in probably the most competitive high school in Pakistan, atleast Karachi. I have a good GCE Ordinary Level Result(11 out of 11 A grades) and a good GCE AS Level Result(4 out of 4 A grades).
I want to pursue my undergraduate in Economics with Management/Mathematics. I have scored well in both the subjects, eco and math, in school, and scored 95% in Ordinary Level and a 97% in AS Level in economics and a 99% in Math Olevel and 97% in Additional Math Olevel and a 99% in Math AS level. I am going to take my SAT I in December and my SAT II in MATH II and Physics on 6th Oct. I am predicting my SAT II scored to be b/w 650/730 and my SATI score to be between 1900-2050.
I wanted to select colleges and universities that offer economics and are well recognised.
My counciller told me to select 4 Reaches, 4 Matches and 2 Safety colleges.
I have narrowed my list to: UPenn, Cornell, Rice and Northwestern as my Reaches. If you all can provide me some good well-known matches and safety schools, I will be really happy.
I was thinking as Bates, Claremont, Oberlin, Vassar and Washington as my Matches and Wooster as my Safety.
If you all can give me some adivce regarding this and tell me what will be a better option for me. I really havent done proper "homework" on my safeties and matches and I have to hand in the list to my counciller in a few days, so if you guys could help, it will be realllyy appreciated. Btw I was also thinking of Boston, Georgetown and Amherst. Please help me make the proper choice for me future.
Please remember that I will apply for aid and that i am an International Student!!
Your opinion and your suggestions will be highly appreciated!
THANK YOU :D</p>
<p>As an international seeking aid, you will be in the most competitive applicant pool. I don't think that your predicted SAT scores are good enough for several of your "match" schools even. You need to aim higher on those scores.</p>
<p>It would help if you'd be more specific with the names of your colleges:
Claremont = Claremont McKenna (CMK)?
Washington = Washington U. (St. Louis) (WUSTL)?
Boston = Boston U. or Boston College? (BC is harder to get into)</p>
<p>Yae I was talking about Claremont McKenna (CMK), Washington U. (St. Louis) and Boston College :S
"I find myself in great trouble, i suppose"</p>
<p>what about wesleyan. they gave my bro a lot of aid and his stats were just like yours</p>
<p>I think you'll need to either lower your sights or score much, much higher on those SAT's.</p>
<p>theres nothing bad abt his SATs and that is his projected score not his real one.</p>
<p>thank you :)
Ill really appreciate that someone can recommend me unis like Olasco did, where I have a high chance of getting full financial aid and also is good for economics :) thanks</p>
<p>Posters, please pay attention to the fact that this student is Interational.
International students seeking full aid have to do a lot of legwork to find schools. Many do not offer financial aid to international students.</p>
<p>yes exactly, thank you ebeeeee! And I will/want to apply for merit scholarship as well as I feel I am academically strong. Thank You</p>
