<p>I remember the first time that I tried to blow the trumpet in grade seven and nothing but spit came out. Before I blew it I was so excited and thought that I was going to be an immediate success in it but it took a lot of determination and practice to be able to play my first major scale-c major. The scale was taught to me by my church band instructor and I practiced it every day until I was able to play it perfectly. As I progressed I soon became a very good player and was able to play with my school band in that same year. Trumpet has become one of my favorite activities. Playing the trumpet livens up a boring day and it is very fun playing junkanoo and calypso music on my trumpet at school functions, and gospel music with my church's orchestra.</p>
