Such as...

You only need one or two safeties, as long as they are real safeties.
In regards to the UK schools, they are equally competitive as Ivys, and very hard/nearly impossible to get adequate financial aid for (if you need it, I have no idea.)

You're scores are very nice, definitely do not re-take Math I in my opinion. Your score is great, and it's not necessary to improve upon. Focus on taking another Humanities SAT II, which will look more impressive in conjunction with your other math/science scores, activities.

Your chances for all of these schools are good, but Ivy admissions are, as we all know, almost completely impossible to predict. Hope for the best, but know that Ivy admissions are nothing to take too personally beyond a certain point. You're a very qualified applicant, but so are thousands of other future accepted, waitlisted, deferred and rejected students.

Good Luck! :)

I guess you live in New York?

Yes, Long Island, New York.

Try for Michigan Ross pre-admit?

where on LI are you from? I'm from Suffolk County and am going to Huntsman next year.

I'm from Nassau County- Syosset HS. What's the best tip you could give about getting in? What were your scores so I have an idea of what it takes...

And what kind of courses do you take? Very business focused or just a tough schedule in general?

The following is my resume. The format from Word didn't quite match well, so it's a bit messy. I listed details about each category under the category title. Such category titles are business education, music, education, test scores, APs, etc. The music category tends to get long. Also, I haven't updated this in a few months, so I'm missing a few things but the majority is here. Hope this helps.

The majority of courses I took were NOT business courses; in fact, I am taking my first high school business course currently. I have had a tough schedule from 10th grade up until now, scheduling courses during lunch breaks and making sacrifices.

The best tip I could give you would be to show that you are passionate about a certain interest, and that you can back your passion up with related activities.

There's nothing wrong with applying to ivies just because they are ivies
[/quote]

Is there anything wrong with applying to schools that have good football teams? Because it's the same thing...

Wow aairzoom34, that's a lot. Well, I certainly think I have a matching resume save the music stuff. Is it possible that that music stuff got you in? I'm very into sports and hopefully some honors in that will help me. I'm making the assumption that your essays were superb. How'd you find the Spanish SAT II?

I did a search for Syosset and this was the first thread that matched so I decided to post in it =D.

I think you have a very very good shot a UPenn. The kids who got into UPenn from my class were at about your level or lower, although that was for the school of arts and sciences. I don't know about Huntsman.

As for the ACT: Yes, take it with the writing section. It can't hurt.

Yes, I think I've decided that I should take the ACT to see how I do anyway- I don't have to send it if I do poorly, but I do assume that I will do very well with a little studying.

May I ask you Edwardz, what year did you graduate from Syosset? How do you like Dartmouth? It is very rural, yes? Lots of beer drinking and frat parties I hear- a lot of fun?

The music probably helped, but i don't think it was the deal breaker. Sports will probably help, but unless you're being recruited for a particular sport it won't make or break you. I wrote my Huntsman essay on the current economic crisis, which I thought was very relavent. Also, for the Spanish SAT II, I really was expecting a much lower score but I think I got lucky. Each test differs by a lot.

Grade inflation much?

No doubt there is grade inflation at my school. But I still have to work hard. I'm kinda scared for the Spanish SAT II- I've heard it's IMPOSSIBLE to do well on. Any tips aairzoom34?

Are you planning to take the Spanish SATII? Why?

I hope you have reconsidered your plan to retake Math 1

So you want an Ivy, want a business school, and like to party? So why aren't you looking st Cornell AEM?

I'm planning to take the SATII in US/Math 2/Spanish because I need both Spanish and Math 2 for the Huntsman Program at Penn upon application. Hopefully should do well on both.

Cornell is WAY too rural for me by the way.

take some practice tests out of review books, if you don't know a word or two move on or just skip the question...

I can't think of much else. The truth is I got lucky. Are you in AP Spanish?
