Please help me: Verification IRS Tax Transcript

Hello I am currently a sophomore at a private school and I am receiving a 49,000+ scholarship. I went through a lot last year to make sure I received it after my mom illegally filed head of household although she is married, unemployed and my dad makes the most money.

She did that last year and she did it again this year -_- My dad got mad so we amended it to married filing jointly in April.

Problem: I turned the AMENDED tax forms in but now my school is requesting verification. This includes me having to send them an IRS Tax Transcript. Although my taxes were AMENDED, the transcript is showing that my mom is still filing head of household and my dad's record just isnt there since it was impossible for him to file before the amendment since my mom was HOH.

What can I do?? What do I tell my school?! I plan to email my financial aid advisor right now but I just want more information.

My parents (mainly my mom...no just my mom lol) are completely ignorant of how this whole thing works. My mom wants to file HOH because she will get more money back during ttax times and she will be able to go back to school on government aid...but she's 41 and could have gone when she was my age. I feel like she's being quite selfish and trying to make me pay for her mistakes.

You should send in both the tax return transcript and tax account transcript.

See
[Office of Student Financial Aid - What is verification?](<a href=“Financial Aid - Wayne State University”>Financial Aid - Wayne State University)
“…If you filed an Amended Return:
Submit both an IRS Tax “Return Transcript” and an IRS Tax “Account Transcript,” OR
Submit the Record of Account, (using IRS Form 4506-T), which could take 30 days…”

Thank you!
I requested both already but I am still a bit concerned about my dad’s records not showing up at all for the year 2011 when I enter his social security number…although he is supposed to be the primary tax payer.

Does your Mom realize she is committing fraud and a felony (tax evasion)?

^Yes, but not a care is given. We dont owe anything anymore though. My dad spent a whole year paying back the IRS $10,000. We finally got that taken care of.
