hi, right now im a rising junior in high school in gahanna, ohio (a suburb about 15 minutes from downtown columbus). im interested in just going to main campus OSU and as the requirements have been getting more selective im becoming more and more nervous.

some stats:
cumulative gpa (uw) 3.5
2 years yearbook staff
2 years newspaper
most likely member of NHS

i took the pre-act and am projected a 27-31 on it.

classes:
decent schedule, by the end of high school i will have taken 5 years of spanish, 4 years math, 3 years of science, and many english classes including an honors and ap.

not looking for a definitive answer, but if i maintain my GPA around 3.5, continue my semi-rigorous (dont flame me please) schedule and score between a 27-31 on the ACT, what are my chances of getting accepted into main campus?

A score between a 27 and 31 would be very beneficial to your admission.

I have no idea what a 3.5 GPA is at your school, as OSU does not look at GPA, but rather class rank. Do you have an idea where you rank in your class? (top 10%, 25%, 50%, etc...)

Definitely exceeding the requirements in foreign language, math, and science are good. Try and take some strong courses your senior year, AP if possible.

:) thanks, it really makes me feel alot better that someone that knows first hand what it takes to get in is saying that. hopefully i will be able to relax about it a little bit, though im sure ill still be a little nervous until i get an acceptance letter.

If you really want to relax, try and file your application as soon as TOSU will accept it. It is rolling admissions, so first in will get an answer very early.

The stats on the website are for the '06 freshman class, and I know that the '07 class takes another big leap upward. Graduating around the 90th/91st percentile of your class and getting a 28-29 on the ACT would put you right around the median for the '07 class, so unless there's another huge jump in applications for the '08 class, you're in pretty good shape. Whether that will result in any merit aid, I couldn't tell you.
