I just started looking at the discussions on college confidential and wanted to ask a few questions specifically for Stanford. I live in Canada and I am in the IB program at my school. My school is known to be the most competitive academic public school where I live which is a very small town. I also am an Asian girl which I heard is a bonus because I am not like the typical study all day get all A+ Asian haha. But I am not really sure if I even have a chance to get in to Stanford. In Canada well where I live, high school starts in 10th grade so I heard that universities in the states pay less attention to grade 10 marks which is good because I struggled in grade 10. However, my biggest problem right now is my math mark. In math 30, which is a grade 12 course, I received 77% on the class mark but I know that my diploma, worth 50% of the final mark will make it go up into the 80s. And I actually got a very high mark in Calculus, a course thats higher than math 30. I got 98% So do you guys think I should redo the diploma or the course? Do universities like Stanford penalize for redoing a course to get over 80%? I know this is a long description but please help me thanks! :)

Good job, when you typed Asian your shot went out the window.

^ way to be a jerk. I would offer advice, but unfortunately, I know nothing about IB and Stanford I will advise you to completely ignore comments such as the one posted above.

Sorry its true.
