Why do you feel that Seattle University is a good match with your educational goals?

Seattle University is an absolute match with my educational goals due to its dedication to empowering leaders for a just and humane world, cultural diversity, and the vast opportunities it allows for. I believe in Seattle Universitys mission of creating leaders who are committed to the common good, and hope to become a leader in my career path of forensic psychology to make a positive impact on the world. As a first step to this impact, I am eager to participate in the volunteer work that its students contribute to the community. With fifty states and over seventy nations embodied throughout its students, Seattle University offers connections that span over international borders; allowing me to create relationships with others who also seek to serve the common good, and possibly find opportunities for my future. Not only does Seattle University educate me academically, but also I believe that through its students, I will learn about the world we live in and the cultures that span it. In addition, Seattle Universitys rank among the top universities by U.S. News & World Report opens an array of opportunities for all of its students aiding us in our pursuit of higher education as we continue from Seattle University, to graduate school, and to the world.

Personal Statement
Please type or print on a separate sheet. A brief response is required of all applicants.
Why do you feel that Seattle University is a good match with your educational goals?

Hope this helps.

I wouldn’t mention the US ranking. If you’re mentioning it because the reputation of the school will help you when looking for a job or going on to graduate school then say THAT and not the school’s rank which they already know. Example: I plan/hope/aspire to going on to graduate school and I believe the rigorous academic demands of Seattle University will best prepare me to meet that challenge."

Not bad, however, I do agree with dulchinea about mentioning their rank. If you have good grades, decent extracurricular, etc, then I believe that personal statement will do. If you are lacking in any of the aforementioned categories, I would recommend you expand your personal statement, if at least slightly. If you do plan to expand it, do fill it with useful information and not just filler words. For example, I would talk about what I am majoring in and what I plan to do with a degree from SU. Unless, of course, you answered that in a previous essay for SU.
