<li><p>it should be “reveals” not “reveal” because “history” is singular. the reason that B is correct is “Batman began” is in the active voice, whereas “Batman was begun” is passive voice. If there’s an active voice version of the sentence that means the same thing as a passive voice form of the same sentence, go with the active voice (unless there’s something else wrong in the sentence) </p></li>
<li><p>“grammar” rule: concise answers trump wordy answers. “buyers are responsible” says exactly the same thing as “the buyer is the responsible one”. </p></li>
<li><p>Choice A is a clearer version of choice D, which is vague and doesn’t get the point across clearly. “As for favoring public-opinion polls, the same analysts now see them as hampering representative government.” If you didn’t read the other choices you probably wouldn’t be able to discern what that sentence meant.</p></li>
