ive been teaching myself limits lately, since i havent taken calculus yet [im a junior this coming year] and i need it for my physics C summer assignment. the following problem, i have all the correct numbers for the solution, but instead of a < sign, its a less than OR equal to sign. and the textbook doesnt explain why:

In the following exercise, we are given lim [x-->c] of f(x)=L and thus f(c), c, and L. Corresponding to each >0, find delta>0 (in terms of ) such that
0<|x - c| < delta --> |f(x) - L|<.

the problem was: lim [x ->5] of (x²-25)/(x-5) = 10.

the answer ended up, for me, being, 0 < |x-5| <. but the book had it as 0< |x-5| lessthanorequalto .

whys that?
