Please help me with transcripts!

Hello,

I'm an Indian student and I have no access to a counselor/consultant so College Confidential is the best place for me to get help from.

And help is what I need.

It's about transcripts. What are they, actually? Our report cards and marksheets, right? First of all, I've already graduated from high school (taking a gap year now) so there's no predicted grade pickle here. I have ALL my high school report cards with me, right here.

First of all, I changed high schools. I studied Freshman and Sophomore Year in one place and Junior and Senior Year in another.

From the 1st school, I have 2 documents.

[ul]
[li]A multipage report card that outlines the scores of my Freshman and Sophomore Year (till the pre-board examinations). It looks like this: Powered by Google Docs
[/li]

[li]A marksheet for the Final examinations of my Sophomore Year. In India, these are the bee's knees and here's what the marksheet looks like: Powered by Google Docs[/li][/ul]

Now, moving on to the 2nd school, I have 3 documents from them.

[ul]
[li]A multipage report card that outlines the score for my Junior Year: Powered by Google Docs
[/li]

[li]A multipage report card that outlines the score for my Senior Year (but only until the pre-board examinations): Powered by Google Docs
[/li]

[li]A marksheet for the Final examinations of my Senior Year and High School. These are again, THE thing and while I don't have a scan with me, they resemble the Sophomore Year marksheet I linked to up above.[/li][/ul]

So, now, what I need help in is this: WHAT from this do I have to upload/send to the colleges?

Do I have to take photocopies of EVERY single page from everything I linked to, get them attested by the schools' officials and photocopy those attested versions to send to the colleges?

Or do the colleges not need a total of 5 documents? Do I just get the schools to type out my final percentage of each year (along with the mid-year exams of Senior Year) on a letterpad with their template and get that attested by any official? This I ask only in lieu of those tedious multipage report cards. I'm pretty sure the marksheets I linked to I will have to send - and I have no problem with that.

Please, please help me in this. I am really nonplussed what to do as no one I know has gone through a similar procedure and even my schools aren't sure because not many students from them go to the US for undergrad.

Please look at the documents I have uploaded and tell me what exactly do I have to include in the packages to send to the colleges.

It'll be a huge help!

Hiii
These are not what they want. They need attested copies, preferably uploaded by the school itself. Snce you don’t have acces to that, try meeting an external counselor for help. Especially since you’ve dropped a year, the process will be a little different and not many CCers will be able to help. But if anything else PM me  Best of luck.

Hey,

I know that the college will require attested copies of the transcripts. So, as of now, my plan was to get these documents attested by the school, photocopy the attested versions and hand them over the school with the envelope and address of the college.

Hence, the transcripts will go to the college from the school, and they will be attested, but I just don’t know WHAT are the transcripts.

Also, I’ve met with a couple of external counselors. They are too expensive.

Don’t take their help completely, just consult them time to time for doubts. In my case my school teachers are very helpful, so in your case I feel you should see a counselor at least for all these doubts. There’s no point messing up your applications, right?
